GA-H61MA-D2V Boot order problem

GA-H61MA-D2V Rev 2.1, F6 BIOS, i32120 CPU

Hi A few days ago I booted my computer and got boot device not found message. I checked the BIOS and NO devices were listed under Boot Option Priorities. I loaded Optimized defaults and computer booted OK. When I checked boot order there were 2 hard drives listed and I only have one fitted. When I try and set the DVD as first boot device the No boot device found message re-appears. I've installed the latest stable BIOS. With Optimized Defaults loaded the boot order is.
1/ UEFI: WDC WD500
2/ SATA SM: CDDVDW
3/ SATA PM: WDC WD500
I've had the board a year and until this issue I've had DVD set as first boot device OK. Hope someone can help me, thanks.

Restart your computer and hit the  end key upon booting. Is the dvd drive listed there?

Thanks for your reply autotech. Yes the DVD is listed and if I have a bootable CD/DVD I can run it. Although it's quite easy to work around the problem I just wonder why this came about as I've used the computer for a year without an issue. I should maybe mention that I was running Mint 13 and now I'm running Linux Mint 17. Can an OS possibly cause this? Edit:  I've just changed the first boot device to DVD and booted with a Linux live disc and it worked. The problem is if I leave the DVD drive empty and as first boot device I get the OS not found error when I reboot.

Leave it as first boot device and ho to your hard drive config and have it boot off the hard drive in that section.
