GA-F2A88XM and Disabling Integrated Graphics
« on: June 27, 2014, 04:14:47 am »
So I noticed with this mobo that I have 2 sticks of ddr3 4gb x 2 but windows says 8GB installed (3.44GB) available... so I go to bios

Peripherals > GPX Configuration > Integrated Graphics

and I change it from auto to disabled.

I have a gtx 770 card in main pci and hdmi cable from it to my monitor. BUT after disabling this setting the pc won't even post bios???

WTF. Have to reset CMOS... Am I missing something? I don't want to use the integrated gfx and I don't want it eating up half my ram!

Obviously there is a bios setting to turn it off so why doesn't it work?

Very frustrating andy help would be appreciated.

Upgraded to the latest bios allowed me to disable integrated graphics and be able to post/login.

I did not try this because the BIOS updates just stated "memory compatibility" ....

You guys as Gigabyte should really write better notes for your bios upgrades and let people know what you really altered!!

2 sticks of ddr3 4gb x 2 is kind of a vague description of your memory. You should list a part number or a link to the RAM. Your problem may be your choice of memory.
1) GA-Z97X-Gaming 7, G3258,
2) GA-990FXA-UD3 Rev. 1.1, FX-8350
3) GA-AM1M-S2P, Sempron 3850 Kabini

If you are showing 3.44gb available of 4gb usually means you are using a 32-bit operating system.  To have above 4gb available
you need a 64-bit operating system.
