Where is the HPET setting for GA-Z87X-UD3H ?
« on: July 15, 2014, 10:22:08 pm »
Hi guys.
I'm trying to configure my BIOS for my Gigabyte board, but I can't seem to find the setting for HPET (High Performance Event Timer)  ???
I am ideally trying to active HPET and then set it to 64 bit (as apposed to 32 bit).

I have found screenshots online, showing this setting, but I also notice that there is a copyright symbol and the date 2011.
Mine says 2013.

My board is the GA-Z87X-UD3H

Is the HPET setting no longer available in the BIOS?
Perhaps it is default set to "Enabled" and "64 bit".

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for reading  :)

...

no... I mean HPET (High Performance Event Timer).
This is the function I am looking for in the BIOS.

Thanks for the link. Unfortunately, at my current level of knowledge I find the info in this PDF very difficult to understand. And I cannot see where in the BIOS to access the HPET settings.

If someone is familiar with the recent BIOS version for this board, and knows how to access HPET settings I'd appreciate your help.

I can't find it either on my Z87..though It's never bothered me!

With Linux the HPET registers are configured in the kernel to be on by default or not.
Your OS will handle them...can't tell what to do with Winblows?
