Need ram help for 990FXA-UD3

Just completed a new build with the Gigibyte 990FXA-UD3 MOBO/AMD 8350 Black edition CPU/x2 GTX 770 GPU's in SLI/CORSAIR TX850 PSU.That should give the basics.I see so many conflicting posts everywhere concerning ram,2000 is top of the line,no 1866 is,no the 1600 is all you can achieve...I am lost and a noob when it comes to voltages etc.I am a gamer(ROME2/BF4/COH2),And will be dropping in the new SAMSUNG 850 PRO 256 SSD and need to upgrade to the best ram for my new GIGIBYTE MOBO.I am lost...

I myself would just use 1600. You can use 1866 with OC the CPU too. To run 2000 you will have to OC the CPU a little.

Going from 1600 to 2000 you really not going to see that much of a difference.

What about timings for the RAM? If you use DDR3-1600 and the default timings are set. Is it worth it to change the timings manually? For example if the RAM by default is set to JDEC timings can you tell the difference if the timings are set to XMP.

I run Mushkin Redline memory and I use the XMP Profile. The memory timings are 7-7-7-18. I can set them manually or just let the XMP set them.

The only difference between the two ways is the when the XMP sets them it is at 7-7-7-20. Like I said that the normal person.

Will not see a difference between 1600 and 2000. Here is a link on "How important is memory".

A new GIGIBYTE MOBO I guessing would be Revision 4. The Revision 3 and 4 models use XMP (eXtreme Memory Profiles) to encode higher-performance memory timings. XMP is disabled by default in the BIOS so you would need to enable it.

FX-8350 uses 1866MHz memory with one DIMM per channel.
FX-8350 uses 1600MHz memory with two DIMMs per channel.
990FXA-UD3 is a dual channel motherboard.

Higher memory frequencies require overclocking.

The performance increase between 1866MHz and 1600MHz is slight increase.

Will I extend the life of my 8350 CPU running it and my memory stock?If so,would the 1600 suit me?My last CPU/GPU/MEMORY was an AMD FX100 with x2 EVGA 550TI's in SLI and 8 gigs(4 gig each) of GSKILL RIPJAW 1600...all overclocked.Or should I overclock(within reason) all my new goodies?Pretty much just looking for best gaming with all my new hardware.Thanks for all the informative input.
