970A-DS3 Corrupt main bios

Hi all,

I need some help I recently made some LED lights to go into my pc case, I installed them yesterday and for some reason when I turned my pc on I think one of the LED lights shorted on the case or something and my pc shutdown. It would not turn and was scracthing my head trying to figure it out, with the LED's now removed I managed to get the pc to boot. It loaded and I managed to get into my OS, but it turns out im now using my backup bios. So know I presume the short has somehow corrupted my main bios, I have tried to restore my main bios from my backup but no joy. I get this following message-

Warning: MAIN BIOS CHECKSUM ERROR!
Retrieving recovery source from HPA.... HPA BIOS not available!
Retrieving recovery source from Backup BIOS.... Done:
 Writing BIOS Image..... 4080K OK

it gets to the last message and reboots and reverts back to the backup bios, it would be awesome if you could help me get my main bios working.

There two bios on the board your main is the one you use. The backup as far as I know is only there as a backup.

Again as far as I know you really can't run from the backup. Your backup over wrote the main and that is what you are running on.

In all of this have you set your bios to the default setting in the bios. There is one other thing is it might have kill the battery too.

ah ok so you cant run permantly from the backup bios?

yes set  motherboard to default settings and replaced battery on motherboard.

I just presumed that I was running from the backup bios, so im to the understanding that you cant run from backup its just to restore main bios?

I was just confused by the 'main bios checksum error' message.

Change the RAM and ,if it still does it ,RMA the board.
