disable onboard autio x58a-ud7
« on: March 11, 2010, 09:34:27 pm »
Hi, I got the motherboard that I mentioned in the title. I'd like to disable an onboard sound card. I've got 2 other cards
for recording so it really unnecessary to even have it enabled. I've been looking in the BIOS options but can't find an option like
that. I'm sure there's such a possibility. Can you help me with it.
I just got this mobo. I didn't upgrade it or something (as far as I know the CD included with it includes windows software - I'm running linux)

thanks

Hello portia, to disable on-board audio you need to disable the Azalia codec in bios.
This can be found under the Intergrated Peripherals heading and you need to set it to disabled (auto is the default setting).
Hope this helps.

Thanks for your response. I had actually done it. Initially, I was looking for something with 'audio' in the name.

All sorted now.
