Raid 0 on GA-890XA-UD3
« on: August 31, 2014, 01:26:50 pm »
I recently purchased 2 BRAND new Kingston SSD 120gb drives and have decided to do a Raid 0 install of Win 7 ULT.
There was NO problem at all installing but the bentch marks for the array are abysmal, lee than a single drive on it's own.
I had an issue with NEW memory I put in the machine,I couldn't access the BIOS with it in.I  sent a question to GB and was sent back an answer as to why I couldn't (maybe) and they gave me a NEW Bios file and so I added it. I can now access the BIOS but, the bootup has slowed and the results of the AS SSD test shows the speeds have slowed.

I hope that someone can help? I surely don't need to RE INSTALL? I did notice that the RAID module of the BIOS had been updated also.

Where do you have your SSD connected to white or blue? The white are Gsata 3gb the blue are Intel sata 6gb.

Well, this is an AMD board and I used two of the 6 sata 3 ports for the raid. Today I made an image of the drive and changed the stripe size from 64K to 128K (these are the ONLY 2 settings allowed) and that made the whole thing WORSE. I guess that I won't be getting any better performance from this setup.

I have a single drive and this is mine. You could have a bad SSD or are you using sata 3 cable?
