I cannot make bios back up of my GTX 970 G1 Gaming using GPU-Z 080. It says this product does not support bios read after it stops the driver and tries to read bios. Can you please let me know how you were able to back up bios using GPU-Z 080?

I did not have to do anything special with GPU-Z 0.8.0. Just used the "Save BIOS" button.

Maybe you could try with nvflash?
Disable the display driver and :
> nvflash -b backupbios.rom

Gui||aume, ahb, Thulk: thanks.

The link to NVFlash at those sites no longer works (at least for me), but luckily a copy of a working NVFlash is included in .rar in the Maxwell II BIOS Tweaker link.

30°C idle for now and the sound is reduced quite a lot.

This is no problem for the Gigabyte VGA team - it is all in its tolerances

Hi,

is it possible to get the fans lower than 34%?

The graphics card is at 30 degrees, so a slightly lower fanspeed would be totally ok.

At this time i couldn't recommend the G1 970 - because it is too loud at idle Speed!

Or is it still possible to edit the bios with nibitor?

Mine is quiet but l have an advice, never touch or hold the graphic card on cooler fans while unpackaging or mounting it into the mainboard because it can leed to Fans axles bending, even if in order of micrometers thus making them noisy and shorting their life expectancy. Also never set in duty a very cold electronic equipment as in winter now, after posibly a cold travel to your home from retailers. Let it first about an hour geting warm slowly at room temperature.
Load your hands out of static energy before you touch electronic parts.

Hey folks,

I have just picked up this card and I'm having the same problem.

I followed the steps, but when I flash by BIOS, windwos doesn't like the card anymore. Device manager gives the error with the yellow triangle thing. Had to re-flash back to stock.

I think this is because I have a new card and the app isn't updated.

Is there any word if Gigabyte will release a legit bios update, or if there is anything else I can do to fix this problem? I guess Maxwell bios tweaker needs an update or something....

:(

I was choosing between the asus strix card and this one, almost regretting my purchase now this sound is bugging me...

The NVflash version in the Maxwell.rar didn't work for me. I modified the original BIOS that is considered as the same version because there is no way to change the version's tag with the Maxwell BIOS tweaker.

I followed this GUIDE with a link (step 1) to a version of NVflash that finally worked for me, the one with the mention "(Use this one if you just want to mod your own BIOS.)."

To make everything to work correctly, it is crucial to disable all display drivers, even before making a backup of the original BIOS with GPU-Z (by clicking the small icon at the right of the "BIOS version" in the "graphic card" tab).

GPU fans went from 1600 RPM to 1100 RPM in idle mode.

FWIW I managed to do it in the end. Just hunted around for the most up-to-date version of all the apps.
