ga-z77x-ud3h hanging at bios screen when gtx 970 installed
« on: October 19, 2014, 04:29:01 am »
I have a ga-z77x-ud3h rev 1.0 mobo with an f9 bios and currently running a evga gtx 660ti. I have bought a evga 970 then proceeded to install it and now it hangs just at my bios splash screen and the post code i notice on my mobo is a 62. so will updating my bios to f20e fix it or what bios should i update too as f20e is a beta bios.

Could you put up some more spec. Just telling us what board you have will not help.
X299X Aorus Master, i9-9940x-3.30Ghz, 64gb G-Skill DDR4-2400, MSI RTX-3070 8GB, Cooler Master case, Thermal-take PSU 850w, 1-M2-NMVe SSD-512gb, 3-Pny 1TB SSD, 2-WD Raptors 1TB, Win 10 pro 64bit, Asus 35" 144Mhz Monitor.

Had the same problem with my z77x ud5h. Looked around and found an answer: you need to update to a bios that has "Improve VGA compatibility" or any above it. After that it booted without any single issues. One more thing: if you leave your pc alone on the splash screen it will still boot eventually, just take a long ass time. Your best bet is to take out the 970, put in whatever gpu you had before to flash and then put in your 970.
