GA-Z87X-UD5H new BIOS F10 problem
« on: October 17, 2014, 08:27:21 pm »
Hi, hope anyone can help me

I update my bios from F9 to F10 and now I can't see when computer starts ''Legacy RAID ROM''
Usually when computer starts I see the gygabyte logo, american megatrends logo and my intel RAID configuration: Legacy RAID ROM (ctrl+I)
Now after F10 update my computer I see nothing, just black screen and then starts windows 7 so I can't use ctrl+I to configure and create my RAID

My bios is configured exactly when I had F9, also I reset the BIOS to the original settings and still the same problem

This new bios is like that or maybe I need to configure something in the BIOS?

Please help, thanks in advance

hit delete when starting, go into bios , then hit f10 save and exit on the next boot do you see it.  If you already configured your raid why do you need to go back into it. I used to see hit control and I but it goes past it now the same as yours but since my raid is already set up I don't need to go into it.

If you reformat your computer it will go back to that screen so you can redo your raid. Just reformatted mine Tuesday and it went into build raid fine and for 3 or 4 boots after that I saw it but now I don't. Stays black like yours but doesn't bother me as I don't need to see it since raid is already set. Since I reformatted I know that if I crash and need to reformat it will show again.

Because when I update to F10 I lost my RAID0, so I need to reconfigure the RAID, also I am looking onto testdisk how to recover the partition but it seems testdisk is unable to locate the partiton

One question: what does exactly when I hit F10 on the bios?

F10 saves changes. Did you go into sata and change it to raid. On mine I had to change it to sata then back to raid a couple of times to get it to come up.

Every time you flash, BIOS start with default setting.
Default setting for SATA is AHCI...so you must change to RAID and also choose your RAID to be first boot.

Yes, I did realize after the update the bios change to ACHI, so I change again to RAID, then I start windiws and my raid0 was broken. Next time bios update I will remove my disks from the intel raid to avoid problems

Now my computer is working perfect now

Thanks all for your help
