Gigabyte GA-X99-UD4 boot and sudden blank display problems remain after BIOS F9c

Gigabyte GA-X99-UD4 boot and sudden blank display problems remain after BIOS F9c ...

Suddenly, during use - then screen may turn blank. Just when that occurs you hear the sound from your speakers similar to USB detect redetection sound.

Will Gigatebyte fix this? BIOS updates have remained silent - and it seems to me this problem is beyond just a quick fix patch.

I'm getting very close to RMA'ing the board with the basic input/output in a unrepairable state - declining to receive a board with the similar problems.

Just asking were you having a problem to start with. I have been running my board for about a month and it has been running great.

I have the first bios F5 too. Plus are you running windows 8.1 too. Microsoft does have a hot-fix for the black screen problem.

X299X Aorus Master, i9-9940x-3.30Ghz, 64gb G-Skill DDR4-2400, MSI RTX-3070 8GB, Cooler Master case, Thermal-take PSU 850w, 1-M2-NMVe SSD-512gb, 3-Pny 1TB SSD, 2-WD Raptors 1TB, Win 10 pro 64bit, Asus 35" 144Mhz Monitor.

The blank screen problem happens even when the machine is running (like a system halt - and screens powers off). After that the reboot problem comes on again. It's not the power supply either. Brand new modern hx750i - and not even loaded. Says using Corsair Link its only loaded for 100w.

So it goes off in an idle state. Happens sometimes ...

From time to time the reboot problem reappears ...

BTW please note I am using UEFI boot (not legacy boot).

I think there is a lot of symptoms again now indicating the boot problem is still there with UEFI boot. ...
... even after your answer. But thanks anyway for trying to help out.

I am also an early adopter of X99 (Haswell Enthusiast system) for getting more bandwidth for flight simulation. And it seems quite a few other buyers got it for the same reason. I.e. the reports on problems with having USB equipment connected. However, even if the flight Sticks or usb devices are disconnected the boot problems remain with UEFI.

Anoying, because the previous system did not have these problems. Apparently early adopter problems - but the firmware needs to be fixed still. Problem is, if Gigabyte do not sell a lot of these boards and do not keep fixing problems. I.e. markets boards that does not Work.

These boards have architectural problems - may its just the software, i.e. the firmware that needs to be fixed. Have also tried to run the mem etc on non-aggressive default settings just trying to figure things out.

Bottom line: It's the software in the board. Nothing else. May be only with UEFI.

Or Gigabytte should document the reference solution for setting their boards up for UEFI - in detail.

Tried it all.

The problem may also seem to span across the X99 boards, i.e. UD5 users also report the problem.
