Can not Update to Beta Bios! Ga-Z170x Gaming 7 With Hazwell CPU
« on: January 21, 2016, 10:08:51 pm »
I have a Ga-Z170X Gaming 7 Running windows 10

I have unzipped the 3 files in the beta download and put them on a stick and tried to use Q flash to install the new BIOS. The USB is formatted to Fat32.. It does not register that the USB is there. I even put the @ Bios file in there to see if that was the problem. Did not put the files together though. Still Nothing...

 Soo..

I have downloaded @ BIOS to the app center and tried to install the files from there. It will let me select all 3 files only when they are zipped. However I tried unzip them and select one and I figured on picking the exe file to start the process and nothing. It keeps giving me an error code. "Flash Bios has stopped working" " A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available." DOES NOT give me a solution...

This is extremely frustrating.. I have a Hazwell CPU and am really looking to fix the prime95 problem. Why the heck is this so freaking hard. I can not get this to work at all. I have spent 3.5 hours trying everything I can to get this working and at this point I am beyond frustrated. Does anyone have any advice or ideas for me?

I was running windows 8.1 and tried first and then downloaded windows 10 to see if that would fix anything and still frustrated.

First of all I might be wrong but they don't make a Hazwell CPU for this board. I'll have to pull out my test computer out of the box and check to see how it shows up. It will usually show by the brand of the USB drive. The other thing is that the only file should be on there auto.exe, Efilash, & the z170xg3.f4 that is how it show shows up on my UDB drive.

Just check mine and it doesn't show up in any config. But when you hit the f8 and tell it update from a drive it does show as the brand like mine it says Staples.
