On the CPU cooler the 1155 & 1150 are the same. Do you have the CPU plug into the right connection on the board.

If it is doing the boot loop thing it is more likely the CPU, bent pin in the CPU socket, or the PSU.

If this is all new stuff put up a list of what parts you got.

Some older DVD/CD drives don't like to run in AHCI mode. This, of course can cause problems when it comes to installing the OS which is why I use the USB method.

Try connecting the DVD/CD Drive to the Marvell SATA ports and setting the Marvell Controller to IDE Mode.
Remember, when all else fails a cup of tea and a good swear will often help! It won't solve the problem but it will make you feel better.

not good news I stripped it all back down and removed the processor and found a few bent pins, called ebuyer and was told I should have noticed them before I installed the processor and notified them then the put me through to gigabyte and they said I could return it to them but they wanted to see a photo first to see if their people could sort it and they would be able to tell if it was my fault or not.

I have been doing this for a long time and when a computer boots and shut down and starts back up in a loop.

99% of the time when it is doing that it is something with the CPU area. The 1st 2 things it checks when it boots is the CPU fan & CPU.

Glad you found the problem Cookiebun. You learn from your mistakes and I have made a lot of them too.

I hope people that read this is you always when buying a MB that before you install any thing on it that you look it over.

Hi repaired motherboard + new i5 processor + new Hyper T4 cpu cooler all installed and so far working okay windows 7 64bit all installed and updated and most of the programs installed just got to do the games now, onboard sound is great for music can't wait to hear the games. I would like to thank Gigabyte Tech for repairing the pins all it cost me was the postage, where as Ebuyer left me needing to buy a new motherboard, so far I am a happy bunnie.
