X99 UD5 WIFI BIOS PROBLEMS!- SCREEN BLACK, ERROR

(1/3) > >>

alexdb:
Hello
I have a problem with the MB....my config is this: 5820K, DDR4 Kingston Predator@3000 and Gigabyte GTX 760...I have a SSD Samsung 250GB and a WD Red 2TB...
Bios vers is 7F.
The problem is: When I connect the WD hard, it boot, get in the windows without problems, but when I want to get in the BIOS, the screen remains black. I tried all the ports on SATA and is the same think. It is frustrating because When I want to enter the BIOS every time I must disconnect the HDD..
Another problem is when I connect a card reader witch has also USB3.0, to the internal USB3.0 the MB keep restarting!
I also notice when I activate XMP profile @3000Mhz, sometimes the BIOS fail and I get the message to load BIOS defaults..
Does anyone has this problems with his MB?
Thanks

1. The Red hard drive is really for networking. WD Red is designed specifically for small NAS systems

2. There is a updated bios for the USB drive problem. Bios F8b

3. You really have to over clock your CPU a little to get the memory to run at that speed. That CPU will support up 2133 without the OC. Bios F8a might help

Nearly the same Problem with a Gaming 5 - same Hardware only the - hdd is a 2GB Seagate..........

Yes I have to agree on the boot problem. I don't have that problem and I'm using the x99-UD4.

I have 2-240gb SSD in array and have four 10000 rpm 600gb hard drives connected.

The only really problem I'm having is now & than I get a BSOD when playing games.

To me it isn't a big deal. I know it is a driver problem with the video card.

I can't update to the new driver because it make my 39" LED look like crap. I'll live with the BSOD for now.

All you can do is update the bios to see if that takes care of the problem.

So your saying I can't use properly this red HDD? So in the end what version of BIOS I must have? 8a or 8b?
version 8b has build in it and what 8a has?
Thanks
