GA-Z68X-UD3H-B3 (rev 1.0) cannot update bios
« on: November 20, 2014, 08:18:07 am »
Morning all,

I am having problems updating the bios on the above board.
If I use @bios it just tells me that f9 is the latest version and if I use @bios and point it to the f12 file I get "BIOS partnumber (award) is not correct!".

So I downloaded the f12 bios put it on a usb drive and rebooted, tried flashing it using q-flash but I get "Bios ID check error".

Can someone please advise.

Kind Regards

James

is your usb formatted in fat32?.  Also unzip it to flash drive and make sure you point it at the right file.

Hi there,

the reason you can't flash the BIOS is because the F12 version is larger than your current BIOS file. You need to follow the steps that Autotech has outlined above but you need to use the FLASHSPI tool to actually update the BIOS.
Remember, when all else fails a cup of tea and a good swear will often help! It won't solve the problem but it will make you feel better.
