X79-UD3 with Corsair CMZ8GX3M1A1600C10 issue

Dear all,

I have recently updated to F20 bios on my GA X79-UD3 ver 1.0 board. I have 4*8GB Corsair CMZ8GX3M1A1600C10 DDR3 which were recognized correctly by F12b (probably the update was no so good idea). Now the BIOS recognize the memory but in the System information section reports I have 28 GB RAM (as well Windows).

Any idea how I can resolve this?

Bad situation. I cannot find either older image of the F12/F12b BIOS  :'(

Hi autotech,

I've just updated to F21e. The result is rather the same - 32768MBs detected (MIT screen), 28672 MB Total Memory (System information screen). I already used known setting for the memory: CAS Latency = 10, tRCD = 10, tRP = 10, tRAS = 27. The other i don't think I've known them even for F12b.

Thanks anyway! Any other clues or somebody that can fetch an older version of the BIOS?

Ok. I found F15H and F12Q BIOS images. Is there any way to skip the error from the @BIOS or the DOS tool trying to update with older version of the image?

If you have dual bios then you can make it kick in.

Now start PC, and when power turns on press down power button and keep it pressed down even if machine is shut down.
 Now while still holding the button, cut the power to the power supply and hold the button for 20 more seconds.
•Then remove CMOS battery and let it be outside for 1 minute.
•Insert CMOS battery and boot up the system. If everything went ok, BIOS will recover itself from the BIOS_2 chip.
•If it does not work first time, please repeat the steps once more.

That will take you back to original bios that is on the back up chip.

Hi autotech,

I have tried the steps 4 or 5 times without luck - getting back the higher F20 BIOS. Removing the CMOS battery and playing with the power supply didn't helped except a message that the BIOS is reset. I found CLR CMOS jumper pins on the lower right of the motherboard but I will try this one at the moment I get more information for the procedure of usage.

I've put a ticket to the Gigabyte support (hopefully they will come back with some more useful ideas).
