Incorrect temperature readings on Gigabyte Z87X-OC
« on: December 02, 2014, 05:48:18 pm »
Hi all. Im currently using a Gigabyte Z87X-OC with F8 bios. Has anyone had temperature reading issues? I think that my cpu should have noticeably lower temperature than the board reading says, and Im wondering if it may be the board having wrong readings.

CPU is a 4770k at 4,3ghz with 1.160v delidded, custom watercooling with triple and quadruple radiators and its propperly mounted, issue isnt coming from there. And temperatures go anywhere from 60º with just full cpu usage and 67º while gaming (there are 2 gtx780 in the wc loop too). Or its just that I have a hotter-than-normal cpu?

Thanks a lot for your help.

Now when you say 60c of 60f in degrees. If it is 60c and you don't have something not mounted right.

But if it is 60f than you have really good cooling and you should be fine.

It looks like in your first post you are OC a little 4.3 ghz. If I'm reading that right you are fine. If you are getting those temps and cooling two video cards too.

The cooling is doing a good job. People are out there are only cooling the CPU and getting higher temps. So you should be fine on what you are doing.

Thanks for your replay. Im testing now with 4ghz and 1.044v. Temps are around 64º after some hours of gaming. People with delidded mics and similar liquid cooling to mine are getting those temps with 4,5ghz and a lot more voltage.
