Overclocking a F2A88X-D3H (rev 3.0) BIOS F5 with an Athlon X4 860K

Hi!

Happy user of this board, I need to overclock my CPU from the BIOS (it's not possible from Linux). The processor, Athlon X4 860K is overclockable but in the BIOS (F5) the "CPU clock ratio" is blocked on AUTO with no possibility of choice. Of course, the CPU frequency is grayed. All the temperatures are OK, I am using a Hyper 212 evo cooler.

Do you have a solution?

Replying to my own post, the solution is quite simple: enter the values you whish by using the old BIOS technic, pressing the + or - keys.

Too bad the Gigabyte support emailed me that overclocking this motherboard was impossible due to "security reasons".

Anyway, my Athlon X4 860K runs now at a safe 4.3 GHz both in Windows and Linux.
