Compatible 16GB RAM Kit For X58A-UD7 Ver 2.0 Mobo

I am looking for compatible 16GB RAM kit for my system, budget no issue, below is my system specification,

Intel Core i7 950 @3.07Ghz
Gigabyte X58A-UD7 Rev 2.0

Those would work, Your CPU only handles 1066 so I wouldn't go higher than that unless you want to deal with problems.

Now having 6 ram slots you can find a triple channel kit but I cant find one the correct size in the time I have right now.

I was just going through CPU-Z info and noticed some issue,
CPU-Z showing DRAM Freq as 799.4Mhz http://i.imgur.com/yjV0cSe.png
where Windows Task Manager showing 400Mhz.
The kit I have as of now is GSkill 8GB 1600 MHz CL9 RipJaws X

If I am not wrong, CPU-Z usually reports half and we got to multiply by 2 to get the running frequency but what task manager shows will be the actual frequency then why this incorrect reading ?? and is CPU-Z reporting wrong or Windows 8.1 Task manager ??

Want to update my reply again...

Ran HWiFO64 and showing 800Mhz, so the RAM indeed running at 1600 speed just for some reason Task manager reporting it wrong..  http://i.imgur.com/uf1fYFU.png

Your board doesn't list 1600 memory. Plus autotech said don't go higher than 1333 too. I have run 1600 memory on my X58 boards. Support for DDR3 2200/1333/1066/800 MHz memory modules.

I never ran with just four sticks. I always ran with 3 sticks or 6 sticks. The 1600 memory you have to set the memory manually. It has been some time since I ran those board. I always went by the bios memory.

I don't run any of those program if I can help. This is just me those programs will drive you nuts.

I'm sorry I thought you were waiting other people to say something. These are the ones I would run and get two kits. 12gb on the board is more then enough to run. I like G-Skill memory.

That is almost all the memory I run on all my Gigabyte boards. I will run Kingston too. But that is it. I stick with what has work for me for years. Between 1600 & 1333 you not really going to see a performance change. I had about 6 of the X58 boards too.

You can run at 1333 with tighter timings than 1600 and it will actually run a bit quicker.  Say you are running 1600 at 9-9-9-25 but you can run 7-8-7-20 at 1333 then 1333 will actually be faster than the 1600.

All it is, is  a play on numbers yes 1600 is supposed to be faster but if you tighten the timings and do a benchmark at 1333 you will see that your benchmark has better numbers.

No Problem we are here to help people with their problems. We might not be right 100% of the time. I think autotech likes to helping people just like me. I have a golden rule that I follow is I never go over what the CPU supports for memory.
