GSATA3_6/7 (SATA 6Gb/s Connectors, Controlled by Marvell 9128)

Connect the SSD to those ports. You set that controller to AHCI.

Your hard drives and DVD rom you connect them to the - SATA2_0/1/2/3/4/5 (SATA 3Gb/s Connectors, Controlled by ICH10R) You leave them on IDE.

The GSATA3_6/7 are the only two connection that are 6gb.

You can run it on the Intel controller but it will not have the write & read speed that the Marvell has.

But where you board is older you might not really see a deference. Marvell wasn't really that fast.

Just which it to you Intel controller and set it to AHCI and you should be fine. It really doesn't matter what port you plug it into. But I would use port "0"

Now the other thing if you do connect it to the Intel. I would move the two hard drives to those Marvell ports and set it to IDE.
