I have a problem with my F2A88X-UP4 motherboard and HyperX Beast 2400Mhz memory. The exact HyperX part number is HX324C11T3K2/16
This is expensive, 16GB, (2 x 8GB) of DDR3 2400 ram. It won't work at full 2400 speed.
My new memory works at full speed, 2400Mhz, on two other motherboards with the same AMD A10-7850K apu, but it will not work on this Gigabyte F2A88X-UP4. It is very frustrating.
The two other boards that run this memory at full speed are an MSI A88XM-G43 and an Asus A88XM-A. Same Kaveri APU was used in all motherboards.
The Gigabyte F2A88X-UP4 can enable the 2400Mhz profile, but memtest will show tons of errors after about 5:21 seconds. If I skip memtest and just let it boot and go to windows, then windows will blue screen after a few minutes. It is not stable at all, but it is on the other boards. I do have the latest F6 bios on the Gigabyte board.
I have tried using the XMP profile, and also manually changing all the memory timings I can. I got the proper values using AIDA64, and I also tried the timings that are set in the bios on the other two motherboards.
When using the manual settings I did raise the RAM and NB voltage just to rule those out. The voltages I used were higher than what the other two boards use, so that doesn't seem to be the issue.
I think a bios update from Gigabyte is needed.
I did start an esupport ticket through Gigabyte on 3/10/15 and there is no reply yet. The ID number is 116127.
