Hi everybody,
I have bought the motherboard GA-970A-DS3P (rev 1.0) and I have some problems with the recognition of hard drives.
I have 5 hard drives permanently connected:
- A SSD (250GB Samsung 840 EVO) where the OS is installed (Windows 7 64bit).
- 2 SATA hard drives (Seagate ST31000528AS 2TB and Seagate ST2000DM001 1TB).
- 2 USB HDD (WD 10EAVS 1TB and Seagate Backup+ 2TB) with external power supply.
The Seagate USB is plugged into a USB3 port, the WD into a USB2. SATA hard drives are connected to the SATA ports 4, 5 and 6 on the motherboard.
My problem is that some hard drives are sometimes not recognized:
- It occasionally happens that the USB hard drives (only 1 or the both) are not recognized by the motherboard. When it happened the first time, I checked in the BIOS and hard drives didn't appear. So I think it's not a driver or a software problem. It also happened once that my Seagate USB hard drive turned off when my PC was started and the hard drive worked well on Windows. Disconnecting and reconnecting turned on the hard drive, but it was not detected.
- It also happened once that SATA drives were not recognized, except the main SSD. They didn't appear in Windows, and I checked in the BIOS : they didn't appear either (in the boot sequence).
To solve the problem, I have to completely turn off the PC and turn it on again.
Do you have an idea of the origin of my problem? I didn't have this problem with my old motherboard, so I think it comes from there.
I thank you,
Joel GIRES
