Config - i5 4690 + GA-Z97X-SOC Force + 4 NVIDIA GPUs
Purpose - GPU rendering (octane render), which does not require SLI. Cannot work with ATI. Non-Gaming rig.
Will the i5 4690 work with 4 GPUs on GA-Z97X-SOC Force ?
I am wondering because the CPU only allows maximum 16 PCI Express lanes, and this motherboard, in a 4 GPUs setup, works in a 8x4x4x4x distribution, which is more than 16x.
So my query is that, can this motherboard adopt to a 4x4x4x4x distribution in case of an i5 4690 ?
I really hope it can because I dont want to go upto the X99 platforms due to budget constraints.
And this config is already beyond my budget.
