ATI I/O Communications Processor PCI Bus Controller problem?!
« on: February 07, 2015, 09:09:06 pm »
I have hardware/driver problem with ATI I/O Communications Processor PCI Bus Controller.

In General tab it says that Device is working properly

But in resources tab, it says: This device doesnt use any resources, because it has a problem.

At http://answers.microsoft.com Microsoft Forum Moderator said that this is a hardware or driver issue.
But I think I have all the latest drivers installed, so please help me with this problem. What should I do?

It has to do with your video card driver. Have you tried uninstalling video card driver and then cleaning system with driver sweeper then restarting and reinstalling drivers.

When you install the chipset driver do you install the whole package or just the driver? If you install the package with the catalyst control. Then install the video card drivers with the catalyst control that might be the problem.

If you uninstall everything what does it say in device manager for the chipset driver?

I uninstalled everything with AMD Catalyst, then I removed empty reg. keys and folders with Display Driver Uninstaller.

Rebooted and installed the final AMD drivers.  But ATI I/O Communications Processor PCI Bus Controller still doesnt use any resources because it has a problem.

Then I restored Pci Bus, and ATI I/O Communications Processor SMBus Controller back to default Microsoft drivers from 2006. But problem is still there.

I also remember that once Pci Bus device driver, was called PciE Express, but now its called Pci Bus, even when I restored it back to default MS driver.

I have a question what operating system are you using? This happens in windows 10 a lot and I have only seen it once or twice in windows 7. In windows 7 you can usually go to the AMD site and download the latest drivers and it takes care of it.

I have windows 7 x64.

And I also have the latest drivers.

I will try older drivers, because as far as I remember, my Pci Bus device(thats what is called now) was named(with older drivers) Pcie express, and I think I didnt have problems then.

I think this driver is causing issues.

I think Here needs to be Pcie Express driver, called ATiPcie.sys and not Pci driver. I download it and installed it from gigabyte site and its infact Pcie Express(3gio driver), but I get BSOD on restart.

When I uninstalled Pcibus driver, almost everything gets uninstalled with it: mice, keyboard, Pci Isa, pci bridge, umbus root bus, Smbus, Sata... etc....

Is there any procedure, to succesfully install Pcie express.sys driver?

or a way to freshly install all drivers like after windows installation?

At Microsoft they say if driver update doesnt help , then this is Hardware issue...

I would suggest you to install the latest version of chipset drivers from the manufacturer’s website and check if it helps.

If the issue persists, you may contact the computer manufacturer for further assistance as this is a hardware issue.
