hmmm, i see

hyperx requires higher voltage than default one provided by mb so try with other vendor ram

disconnect everything from MB except: CPU, FAN, RAM, VGA, PC speaker, PSU then try
if still no success then maybe try to RMA the MB

I checked and it was set at 1.5v and hyperx is rated at 1.65v

I restarted and managed to change this but now im stuck at the same code again and cant boot back into windows. I have been restarting my computer for the past 5+ hours now......

just try with standard memory, not any hyper / super / extra / infinity, etc. ...

I dont have access to normall memory, this clearly is not the problem as the problem persists even if i set the voltage to the required setting. Also im sure kingstone has made the memory knowing it has to be booted with default 1.5v.

I installed a speaker and this makes no noise during boot.

there should be some beeps when only CPU and PSU are connected to MB (no other components)

no sound means that MB internal pre-post procedure does not work (MB or CPU damaged, most of all it's MB)

HI, I have had a similar problem. Good chance it is the bios version. no easy way if it wont boot at all. But if you can change the cpu for one that will work upgade to f9 or better for full compatibilty. Best of luck.

I had exactly the same issue on a X58A-UD7 motherboard and it turned out to be the PSU. Even though the origianl should have been man enough(750W) it was causing the same problems as you have. It even stopped booting at the same place - 8B. I installed a Corsair HX850 and everything works fine!

I have had my UD5 along with a 6gb ddr3 kingstone kit, nvidia gtx280, x-fi extreme gamer and 2x640gb samsung f1's in raid 0 for roughly 9 months now. For the past month or something my machine refuses to boot randomly with an error code of "88" on the board itself.

Now this could either be a "B" or "8" or a combination of the two.

I have tried 1 stick of ram, resetting the cmos and making sure all the cables are plugged in.

Does anyone have any advice on this problem?

Did anyone found how to fix this? I have the same problem with a GIGABYTE GA-EX58-UD5. All fans are spinning, debug code 88 or 8B or B8 is displayed. Whatever is the meaning of this code, I could not found how to fix it. I don't think that it is a big thing, because the motherboard starts, but doesn't go to bios. Best regards!
