Adding 2x8GB RAM sticks to a GA-H55-USB3 Mobo?

Adding 2x8GB RAM sticks to a GA-H55-USB3 Mobo?
« on: May 17, 2015, 01:49:47 pm »
The documentation for the Gigabyte GA-H55-USB3 mother board is quite old so I though trying to ask here if someone would know.

This is my current setup:
Mother Board: Gigabyte GA-H55-USB3
CPU Model: Intel Core i5 650
Memory Size: 2x2GB, 1333, 1.5v

I intend to upgrade the memory to 16GB.
Can it be done with 2x8GB?
PC Part Picker and Upgrade Memory suggests it can be done, but I cannot find any official documentation on 8GB sticks (only Qualified Vendor List up to 4GB).

Also recommended vendors will be appreciated.

Thanks!

It's risky at best....it may or may not work. As the mobo controller is the mitigating factor here. More then likely it wont work as the mobo was intended to work with a maximum 4GB sticks. Your best bet is to upgrade to a newer mobo.

And a 4x4GB setup should work?
