Hello, this is the third day in eSupport from Gigabyte, and i got nothing.

Setup: GA 970A-UD3P REV 1.0

I cant use all the slots for RAM in my motherboard. I just can use the 2 first one on the left. If i use another, in dual Channel, than in windows it says 4 gb is for hardware reserved. And i just cant set my Memory to 1866 mhz again. I updated bios, downgraded bios, nothing solves my problem. I can only have 8gb if i put them in 1600 mhz and in single channel.

At MSconfig When i Put 8192 MB and press ok, if i go back to the advanced options, memory appears 0, in windows 0 is maxed memory, Ok, When Computer boots to windows, appears 4096 MB reserved for hardware. Also, if I put my memory back to 1866 mhz which is original, it cant boot, and shows a screen saying a boot failure. Even if i put ''auto'' on bios, which is maximum, by ram default.
So, i I Installed Windows 10 ( i was afraid my W8.1 CD got a problem), flashed bios with Gigabyte @bios, back to F1, and, if I put memory in dual Channel it does not work, it keeps saying that I have 4gb in hardware Reserved. Oh, and this happened 2 days ago because before everything was perfect.
I think I'm Crazy, Yesterday i was able to put memory in Dual Channel still 4 gb hardware reserved, but in 1866 mhz, and boot Windows with no major problem. But right after restarting, it appeared the same message saying ''boot failure''. Also, I tried Linux Fedora 22, and still, 3.8 GB, booting by live CD, it only appears 4gb installed. I will just call warranty and buy another motherboard, from other brand.

Your memory is not on the QVL for your board.  It might work, but is not tested or certified.  Your CPU meets the minimum requirements for using 1866+ memory.  The modules should be installed in slots DDR3_1 & 2.  These are the gray slots.  If two DIMMs are used, memory inserted into either of the black slots (DDR3_3 & 4) will not be detected per the manual.

I would suggest you install the DIMMs in the gray slots.  Enter BIOS and "Load Set Up Defaults".  Save and Exit.  Power off the machine, disconnect from power.  Remove the MB battery for 5 min.  Replace the battery, reconnect to power.  Boot, enter BIOS and see if the memory is properly detected.  If not, your memory is not compatible, is defective, or one or more of the memory slots may be damaged or defective.  Should be easy enough to test with different memory.  Don't mess with memory values in the OS, MSCONFIG, etc.

On some AMD boards you have to set your speed and the timings. You just can't put in the memory and hope for the best. These are not Intel boards. Plus that is all I use 90% of the time is G-Skill memory on all my boards.

Don't mess with anything in there that has anything to do with the CPU & Memory. I had a friend do that and we had to fix it in dos to get his computer to boot back into windows.
