I am just amazed this thread has no reply. I was buying a Z97-A, and got serious trouble directly when I opened the box. Just as you experienced, some pins where badly bent in the processor socket.
As I am old customer to my supplier, there was no problem getting a new one directly. But if I have been a green blueberry, I can imagine how to convince the supplier that it was not me doing this defects. Now the box was not having a seal so it was already open. Thats an hint if you buy something. Check that is sealed.
You SHOULD SERIOUSLY get a new mobo, Ashley.
Hello i recently got a Gigabyte Z97X-UD3H-BK from Scan on 18/07/15, on installing i went to install the cpu i pulled the cover off and some hell bent some cpu socket pins while taken cover off, i am wondering is there away to get this fixed or repaired so i can use my board.
