Stuck on booting bios, vertical lines across screen
« on: August 14, 2015, 08:19:35 am »
Hi everyone!

I'm having a problem with my pc running on gigabyte ga-z68ma-d2h-b3 and zotac geforce gtx470.

Only pointing this two parts cos I think they having an issue.

After switching on booting proces comes only to gigabyte 'welcome, info' screen and it stuck with vertical lines moveing across the screen at the 1/4 of it.

Can do anything, pressing del or f12 doesn't do anything.

I took out my graphic card and clean it gently from a possible dust and a port in a motherboard aswell.

Any advice? Is it broken graphic card or some issue on a motherboard?

Many thanks for any help!

Raf

In my experience, this has always been related to hardware (failure).  If restarting resolves, its software...  if you see this repeatedly...  hardware.

Eliminate the GPU by testing using onboard graphics.  You can try updating the BIOS, but I'm betting on hardware.

More likely it is memory. I have seen a lot boards boot to the bios and just sit. I have had many bad video cards and most will boot into windows. I'm not saying it is the video card. It still can be the video card, but I would try to re-seat the memory or try different memory.
