H97N-WIFI offset voltage

H97N-WIFI offset voltage
« on: August 15, 2015, 08:17:48 am »
Hello

I am using a H97N-Wifi board with a i5-4460 and generally happy with it, and was trying to reduce the voltage a little  for the temperature

However, i have one issue

Within the BIOS, the settings to adjust the CPUs offset voltage is greyed out and not touchable.

Manually setting the voltage works well but this will fix the voltage even when the clock is low (idle)

Other user seem to say that once we set the value manually, we can adjust the offset value, but for my case the offset voltage is always greyed out and unselectable.

Its the same when i use easy tune

Is it possible to adjust the offset voltage on this motherboard ?

Thx

What are the temps? What are you using for a cooler too?

Hello
In fact my question is more a question on the feature of the BIOS, rather than troubleshooting my situation... The BIOS of H97N-WIFI board has voltage offset, but its greyed out and not selectable... I am wondering if there is a way to adjust the voltage offset... Is it something gigabyte person may be answer (not sure they reply to this forum ?)

To go back to your question, the temps are OK.. 35 degree idle, 50 degree normal work, 65 degree benchmark. I can reduce it by 5 degree if i undervolt a bit, which will allow my stock cooler to run even slower. Not a must have, but it was part of my initial build plan to get the lowest clock speed i5, as normally it would have a bit of room for undervolting (and it does, as it runs stable even at -80 mV (i didn't try further)

However

OK I thought I had one of these go through my hands. What you can try is contact this guy he did a review on one. He might be able to answer you question on that setting.
