GA-Z170X-UD3 Error code 55 and won't boot
« on: September 26, 2015, 01:14:02 am »
Hello,
i try to boot with 2x8GB Kingston Fury (HX421C14FBK2/16) but my Z170X-UD3 boot only with one module of the two(one in particular of the two,not one to be chosen),otherwise give a boot loop with error code 55.
I try all the slots and all possible combinations, also with a 8GB module of Corsair (CMK8GX4M1A2400C14),but was the same (boot loop and error code 55).
A couple of time was able to boot with both modules, but while cpu-z showed 16GB and both banks, bios and windows showed only 8GB(the bank of fury that works also alone).
I try F2,F3d,and F3 Bios and various ram bios settings, but nothing has changed.
Don't know what to do,and haven't another DDR4 system to test the ram,but i think that the ram is ok.
Any suggestions?

Thanks

I don't believe either of the DIMMs you tried are on the QVL for your board....  which supports DD4 2133 without OC.

If you want to use DD4 2400 Mhz memory, you have to OC.  You may need to set memory timings manually.

3.Support for DDR4 3466(O.C.) /3400(O.C.) /3333(O.C.) /3300(O.C.) /3200(O.C.) /3000(O.C.) /2800(O.C.) /2666(O.C.) /2400(O.C.) /2133 MHz memory modules

Error Code 55 is "memory not installed".

Hi,
both those dimms shouldn't require ov since are rated at 1.2 volt(2400 corsair too i think).
I tryed to set manually the timings but didn't work.
Regarding the QVL..yes..both aren't on the QVL and perhaps aren't compatible, even if it's strange, because i have ever used for my motherboards dimms that aren't on QVL,and always works perfectly.
Even at the end of the QVL it says:"Memory modules listed as below is for reference only. Due to massive memory models in market, we can only verify some of them.",but maybe aren't compatible.
