Z170 ddr4

Hi all, many wishes for the new Year

I have bought this memory as it had a bargain price:
Vengeance® LPX 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 DRAM 2800MHz C14 Memory Kit - (CMK16GX4M2B2800C14)

In qvl list it is only compatible with Z170 force which I cannot afford.  :-\

What if I use it GA-Z170X-UD5 model which I plan to buy, would it be recognized?

Yes it says it can run it but with all the problems the Z170 boards are having I would get 2133 for now. I'm not telling you don't buy it, but for now I would stick with 2133. I myself ran into problems with 2400.

I had boot memory errors & double boots. Once I put the 2133 memory in all my problems went away. The CPU's only support 1600 & 2133 memory with out OC.

thank you dmdilks
So in your opinion should i buy any Z170 motheboard and "force" it to accept only 2133 of this RAM? cause i prefer not to return the memory as i consider it very worthy for the speed

but ...then the OC options are useless at present? It seems... :o

You don't have force the 2133 that is default. Plus you really not going to see that much of a speed difference. I have the Z170-gaming 3 board. The only problem had was with the 2400 memory other than that it runs great. Any memory that you get from 2400 to 3466 it will start out at 2133. Plus run at that speed to you change it.

Here are a couple threads to read to get you up to speed. On what people have run up against.
