When we built my computer 5 years ago we installed a 128GB SSD in the PCI-EX8_2 slot. Outside of the limited space, it has worked well for me. This is my C: drive and I work hard to keep non-critical programs and files off of it, but I seem to be in a constant clean the drive mode. I've got two questions:
Question 1:I'm now considering putting a larger SSD in it and don't know/understand much about the generations of PCI express cards. Am I able to replace my existing SSD with this
Samsung SSD? If I can use it, do I need this
adapter?
Or do I need to look at a card like this that resembles the card I currently have? Such as this
Intel card?
Question 2:
I have 2 video cards in the PCI-EX16 slots. Am I seriously degrading response time by having the SSD in the EX8 slot?
I appreciate the help!
