GA-Z170X Gaming 7 Slots 3/4 Won't POST

I just bought the following build and put it together, this isn't my first rodeo, and I didn't have any issues putting the system together. When I first turned on the system, the motherboard reports error 55 which manual says is a memory error. My memory was in slots 1/3. I removed the stick from 3 and the system post fine. I removed the stick from slot 1, and tried it in slots 3 and 4 by itself, error 55 each time, when put the stick in slot 2, it also works. System will boot with both sticks in slots 1/2 (single channel). I originally thought it was a dual channel only issue, but the fact that single sticks don't work in slots 3/4 changed my mind. I know the memory controller is in the CPU, so before I RMA the motherboard, how can I determine if this is a motherboard or CPU issues? Seems it's pretty clearly a motherboard issue with slots 3/4, right? Or am I missing something?

You could pull the CPU and look at the pins to see you have a bent one. If they look OK then I would return it or RMA it.

A single pin was bent 180 degrees from where it should be, with no other pins being disturbed. How is that even possible? The only thing I can think is that perhaps the metal bracket fell and hit the pin just right as it did fall one time as I was opening the lever. I reopened it, dropped the CPU straight in and clamped it shut.

I was able to bend the pin back into place (with a ton of patience, a magnifying glass, and a needle). It took a few hours as I had to be extremely careful not to disturb any other pins. I put the CPU back in and sure enough slots 3 and 4 were working. I'm now worried about the socket as a whole, especially integrity issues with that pin.

Do you know of any extreme stress testing I can do CPU wise to ensure everything seems okay? Intel Burn Test maybe?

It should be fine I have had that a couple of times. As long as you got everything back into place. It is booting and now the memory is work you should be good to go. That might have been like that when you got it.

All you can do is load windows and see how everything works. If you are not have BSOD or any other problems you should be fine.
