Problems installing Window 7 on a GA-970A-DS3P
« on: January 03, 2016, 01:44:33 pm »
Hi everyone

Recently I bought a new hard drive (Seagate 1TB Desktop HDD) to replace my old one that was showing signs of failure so after installing the new hard drive I tried to install Window 7 but have come across a problem which I'm really stuck on:

Issue: No drivers were found. Click Load Driver to provide a mass storage driver for installation.
Where issue occurred: Where do you want to install Windows? section.

I would really appreciate it if someone could help me with a lot of detail because I still pretty new to learning tech and I've never come across this problem before. Thank you in advance  :)

Take a small USB 2.0 flash drive and make a new Folder. Rename the Folder W7
Go to the Gigabyte GA-970A-DS3P support page. Find downloads for Windows 7.
Download "AMD SATA AHCI Driver (Preinstall driver, press F6 during Windows* setup to read from floppy)" to your PC.
Click on the file you downloaded and install it to the USB 2.0 Flash Drive Folder named W7.

Now, go back to the "Where do you want to install Windows? section" of your Windows 7 install. In the lower corner you will see "Load Drivers". Click the "Load Drivers" and direct the installer to the W7 Folder on the USB 2.0 Flash Drive.
