Z170 Gaming 7 EU - Avexir 3000mhz Boot problem
« on: January 06, 2016, 05:18:27 pm »
Hi,

I have an issue with my motherboard where it will not boot up when I set it to 3000mhz with XMP.

https://www.overclockers.co.uk/avexir-blitz-original-silver-16gb-2x8gb-ddr4-pc4-24000c15-3000mhz-dual-channel-memory-kit-white-my-113-ar.html

I have enabled XMP so the RAM can run at 3000mhz and also disabled Fast Boot but still it fails to boot up. However it boots and works fine when I select the default speeds of 2133mhz.

What do I need to do to get it work 3000mhz speeds? I'm new to overclocking (if it needs to be done) I assumed just enabling XMP in BIOS that it should work right away.

I have the latest BIOS firmware installed yesterday and running a 6700k. Also I have 32GB of the RAM.

Cheers in advance.

All the Z170 boards are having problems. I have one and I gave up. I was trying to run 2400 memory. Like you said it runs fine in auto but not in XMP. I just did some swapping of memory on my computers and mine runs fine.

The are some things here that most people don't pickup on. Does the memory support XMP? The other thing if you talk to support your memory isn't on they list.
