Windows is not loading
« on: February 04, 2016, 12:32:44 pm »
Hello,
I'm trying to upgrade the memory or my computer, and I can't.

MOTHERBOARD: GA-H67M-D2 Rev (1.0)
MEMORY: Kingston DDR3 8Gb

Initially the system had 8Gb and it worked fine, so when I replace the 2 sticks, for these other 2 (8Gb each) it seemed that work but, Windows didn't load. On the other hand, I tried to put 8Gb + 4Gb (DDR3) and it worked OK. So I don't know what happened, because theoretically, this motherboard can support this RAM and 16Gb. So not sure what can I do.

I checked both 8Gb sticks, and they are NOT faulty.

Any ideas??

Thanks!!

By what you are saying is the computer boots but doesn't go into windows. Try putting in the memory and boot it to the bios. Shut it down and pull the plug. Remove the battery and clear the cmos.

Wait a few minutes unclear the cmos put the batttery back in. Boot go into the bios set it default setting. Reboot go back in make sure the time and date are set and what other settings you had set like AHCI.

I tried that, and it seemed ok but in the end crashed again.... but it's weird because it's windows crashing, not the bios, or the computer... anyway I think I am going to leave it with 12 Gb....

thanks!!
