G31M-ES2L v1.1 no boot after RMA.

 Trying to understand why my board fails to boot. It came back from RMA while I was out of town. Just got a chance to install it, but it doesn't post or boot. I get a series of 6 beeps. Checked with several keyboards, usb and ps2, but the same. Ram and vid card work in other systems, so it's not that. Have tried outside the case to eliminate shorting as the problem.

 Any other ideas? I can't keep paying shipping only to get a DOA board returned to me. Hoping it's something minor I overlooked.

Could be a power issue, have you checked your Mobo connections and/or PSU?

 Sure did. Running an almost new Antec 650 Earthwatts PSU. Connections are good and tight. It just gives 6 beeps when booted

Enter your bios and set to load optimized defaults. Then see if you can boot.

 Would do that if it would even post. I get nothing. Even the monitor light stays amber, which tells me the board isn't turning on.

Try reseating your ram and your video card :-)


Try taking the battery out of the board for a while to reset the cmos........Even change the battery.


......Further to that check your power supply on another system if you can.Failing that RA the board.

I have just put together a EP45-UD3L and had an issuse with it failing to post like you. What I had to do was get a stick of ram that required only 1.8 volt then I was able to enter my bios, change the voltage for my high speed ram. That I think could be your problem :-)
