Motherboards in future and PCI slots
« on: February 22, 2016, 07:22:17 pm »
Hi there !

I'm a musician and still using older PCI slots for my music cards, i have 3 connected together, so
i'm always looking for 3 x PCI slot motherboard.
There are less and less 3 x PCI slot motherbords, here and there i can still found one,
like this one from Gigabyte - GA-Z170-D3H for 6th generation of intel's processors.
I have a qustion, that, will there still be 3 x PCI slots motherboards in the future, let me say for 7th generation and so on
or this will be soon history.
If.. then i must consider to purchase maybe motherboard for 6th generation and upgrade my current configuration, which is gigabyte motherboard GA-H67A-UD3H, LGA1155  - i7 2600k, 1333mhz ddr 3 ram .... from year 2012....

Thanks for any kind of information and opinion,
Best,
Matej

I would expect to see less and less PCI slots moving forward.  PCIe isn't going away for now.  PCI is.  Finding 3 on any board now is a stretch.
