Gigabyte GA-Z97X-SOC + i7 4790K High Idle Temps (50c)
« on: March 02, 2016, 04:02:09 pm »
So i have tried every single thing that i have found in other forums.

I am here to ask and find out if there is current problems with the GA-Z97X-SOC having very high idle temps with the I7 4790k.

They used to be fine idling at 25-30c now they are at 50c. i have tried new and old BIOS versions and the same problems occur.

Temps under load are fine at 65c.

With h100i idle temps are 50c, with stock cooler temps are 65c idle.

My V-core in windows does not auto adjust/drop when idle and neither does my cpu frequency.
Tried every BIOS setting and non of these fixed the issues. These settings were working fine a couple of months back and all windows settings are correct.

Is this a known issue after a windows update or something?

PLEASE HELP!!! i know of other users with the same problems too

Not at home now, but will look at mine later.  I'm stock cooling and on last 4th Gen pre Broadwell BIOS.  I have too many PC's, so I can't recall what the idle temps on my z97 box are off the top of my head.   :P
