GA-Z170X-Gaming 7 - Audio DSP

The Audio DSP is disabled by default in the Bios (F5).  I know that this is the digital signal processor.  Should this be enabled?  I am assuming that if its not enabled the DSP is done via software.  Does anyone have more information on this?  There is no documentation that I could find.  Thanks!

If it disabled by default leave it that way. There is a lot of things you don't touch in the bios. Unless you are a expert on the bios there is really only a few things you change. I have been this for over 30 yrs. Don't screw with things in the bios unless you really know what they do. Here a link that might help or not.

Thanks for the suggestion.  I agree not to mess with the BIOS if you are not having problems, but I didn't know if having this enable would enhance the onboard sound.  Thanks again

I've read that enabling DSP will only result in disabling playable audio.

Well, I decided to call Gigabyte and they confirmed... Once you activate the optical out the analog signal stops and there is no method to actively send both audio signals. It has to be either digital or analog.
