update F6 to F7?

update F6 to F7?
« on: March 29, 2016, 08:29:13 am »
So I had the F7 bios installed on my z97 Gaming 5 and 4790k and it just reverted back to F6 after a crash. Should I even bother updating to F7 again?

Since the download page says that the only change in F7 is 'Better system compatibility for Intel® 5th Generation Core™ Processors'.

That's Broadwell right? And the 4790k is Haswell..

Only difference between F6 & F7 is some tweaks to stepping with Broadwell CPU's.

No need to update to F7 since you are using Devils Canyon like myself.

Ya.  I skipped Broadwell.  Not a bad chip, but all it really offered was lower wattage / TDP and Iris Graphics.  I think its best use case was in laptops, not desktops and since I use a dedicated GPU, I went with 4th gen and decided to wait for Skylake.

Cheers!
