Ga-h110m-s2h Random beeps
« on: March 22, 2016, 01:16:31 am »
So, i just built this PC and ... i'm getting a random Beep From motherboard On Windows ( not during bios or startup, sometimes happens hours after turning on, and don't follow a time schedule aswell, sometimes 2 hours apart, sometimes 4, or even 10.), the CPU is not heating, neither GPU, sometimes on iddle, sometimes on gaming, sometimes on google.

Moba: GA-h110m-s2h ddr4
CPU: i5-6600 w/ Stock fan
GPU: Evga gtx 970 4gb 256bit
SSD: Samsung 850 evo 240gb
HD: 1tb WD10EARS
RAM: 2x8gb Kingstom 1.2v 2133mhz
P.supply: Corsair CX 500
Ventilated Case with 3 Fans one frontal 2 at back/top corner Near CPU fan(One Blowing and other SUcking the air)

Like i said before, don't know what is causing the beep, i have been searching for any warnins on windows Event viewer, and checking heat on CPU and GPU, and it's NOTHING, sometimes it's at 50ºc and it's fine, then it's at 32ºc and it randomly beeps.

it's not a loud beep, neither a long one, or repeated, it's just a really low beep, it's barely imposible to notice with any other audio on or the Fans on GPU/CPU at higher speeds.

i have searched for how to figure out what that is for days now, if anybody have any information, i'll be Really glad.

I would look at those two and the open case one to see if something change.

PC Health Status

CPU/System Temperature Warning
Sets the warning threshold for CPU/system temperature. When temperature exceeds the threshold, BIOS
will emit warning sound. Options are: Disabled (default), 60o C/140o F, 70o C/158o F, 80o C/176o F, 90o C/194o F.

CPU/System Fan Fail Warning
Allows the system to emit warning sound if the fan is not connected or fails. Check the fan condition or fan
connection when this occurs. (Default: Disabled)

Actualy that was one of the first things i did, the CPU fan is working, but i noticed it's not that good, so i'll have that exchanged, but my CPU temperature never went above 55%, and the warning is at 60%...
The CPU system fan fail i do not know, but it's disabled, yesterday while watching i movie, i noticed that maybe, JUST maybe, that beep is not from the motherboard, but from the HDD, sometimes i hear a sound like it but stronger while using something from that HD, so maybe that beep is when the system is checking some files on it.
i'll keep a close look at it, hopefully i'll figure it out.

thank you for your concern. And still open for any ideas for what it could be.

Have you tried a different sata port on the mother board or a different cable?

Additionally, use DLG DIAG or whatever WD offers now to test the health of your disk.  If the beeping is in fact coming from the disk, it is an indication of failure.  You can use a empty paper towel roll to listen to various areas/components inside your case.  Reviewing the System Event Log can also help identify potential issues.
