Gigabyte thin mini itx H61TN bios update

Hi Guys,

Im working on a custom built PC using an lcd screen from a laptop. The screen res is 1600x900 but i dont have this in the lvds settings in the bios. The screen is being recognized by the board because the back light come on and i can switch between the lcd and a monitor ive hooked up with hdmi. But i am not getting a picture. I have contacted Gigabyte and they have sent me a file to use to update the bios via DOS so it will work but when i create the bootable USB and choose it as the only way to boot in the bios it doesnt boot to the USB, it just boots back into the Bios screen.

Has anyone had anything like this before and have any suggestions? Is this the only way to get into the DOS?

YOu can see what Gigabyte might be able to offer...  or I would use the HDMI 1.3a or Display Port

HDMI should support 1920x1080 (native 1920x1200)
Display Port should support 2560x1440 (native 2560x1600)

We have seen numerous reports of problems using newer HDMI displays with older BIOS' and motherboards.  If the HDMI monitor supports 720, I'd try it. 

You can also try Display Port to VGA or HDMI adapter.   

I wouldn't bother with LDVS

Thanks for your reply. with the design of the pc i need to use the lvds connection but i just cant get it to boot into the DOS to be able to update it.

Ya. 1600x900 is pretty obscure.
