GA-Z170X-Gaming G1 PCI-E lanes 2 way sli and a Intel nvme ssd

Hi everyone

I am looking to buy a GA-Z170X-Gaming G1 to Replace a Asus ROG VIII Extreme as I am having issues with it,
will I Have Performance issues if I have 2-way Sli 980 over clocked Water-cooled and a Intel Nvme Pcie SSD,
as I can not find a PCI-E lane layout are all the lanes coming off the CPU or is it sharing CPU and Z170 chipset lanes

There has been recent discussion about this.  I haven't found anything definitive to know for sure what the storage controller has available to it when SLI is used (or if this is relevant).  The number of lanes appears to be tied to the chipset and the manufacturers implementation choice.  May be best to ask Support to ensure you'll get the storage performance you want to invest in x4 vs. x2.

The four PCIe x16 slots are connected to the CPU's 16 lanes using a PLX PCIe bridge chip which means the storage controllers will not be affected since they are connected to the chipset's 20 lanes.

This is different from the Gaming 7 where one of the m.2 slots shares chipset lanes with the third PCIe slot.

In either case, the m.2 slots are x4. The m.2 slots may affect the availability of some of the SATA connectors.
