X58A-OC error code

Hey guys,

Building a pc for my wife. Using my old parts, X58A-OC board with i7 960 3.2ghz cpu. When I try to power up I get the 88 or 8B error. The board has power going, but nothing else. Anyone else had this issue? Any fixes? I'd rather not spend another couple of hundred on new cpu and mobo at this stage.

The error is this & there is no 88:

 8Bh  1. Invoke all ISA adapter ROMs
         2. Invoke all PCI ROMs (except VGA)
