How to flash UEFI GA-Z68X-UD3H-B3 back to BIOS?
« on: May 16, 2016, 09:01:02 pm »
I upgraded my GA-Z68X-UD3H-B3 from its BIOS (ver. F12) to UEFI (ver. UL1.) Can I downgrade back to BIOS just by flashing it again? I've read that I should use efi2awd.exe to flash it, and that I should use the ordinary BIOS definition file from the mobo's download page. Is this true? Is there an approved source for efi2awd.exe?

Thanks.

You can try it that way, if it doesn't work. Make a boot able USB drive and do it that way.

Thanks, and sorry I wasn't clear but I did mean that I would do it using a bootable USB flash drive. That's how I upgraded from BIOS to UEFI. I was simply asking if I should really use the efi2awd program to "downgrade", and if it's really safe.

It should work other people have done it. I have one of those boards and never tried the UEFI bios.

Yes, it's safe. I have to do this several times and not encountered any issues.
