Z170x gaming 7 chipset heatsink

Hello everyone! New to these forums here.

So long story short,  I had a small screw fall in my case and it got stuck between the pcb and the chipset heatsink.  Only way I could remove it was to remove the heatsink. However when I did that, the thermal pad tore into a bunch of little pieces. I know... dumb move.. Called gigabyte and they said they would "try to find an extra one and would email me". Haven't heard back from them. 

If they can't help me,  does anyone know the thickness of that thermal pad so o can try to find one aftermarket that would work?   Please help!!

If all you saw was just a grey looking pad it is likely just a layer of thermal paste.

Try with thermal paste, apply only on the the chipset die (you should see a small square highly reflective center)
Attach the heat sink, carefully tighten.
Then remove to confirm if the paste has spread evenly and on to the heat sink surface.
Yes = Use thermal paste.
