New Build Z170x Gaming 5

Hi,

Just rebuilt one of my rigs with a Z170x Gaming 5 EU Rev1.0, got a few issues with the Mobo:

#1 It came with BIOS F3, I downloaded F5 from http://uk.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=5616&dl=1&RWD=0#bios when QFlash it shows a Checksum, it was either BAD5 or BAD7 so I downloaded F4 and that went in OK, presumably that means the file on the server is Corrupt?, if so why has no one noticed?, it's been out for 5 Months!. I downloaded several times using the US & EU Servers (I'm in the UK BTW).

#2 In the BIOS turning ON the rear Panel LED has no effect?

#3 The Onboard Audio appears to be DOA. I initially installed Win7 (so that I could then upgrade to WIn10), the Audio was not installed, in Device Manager the Device was still under "Other Devices", I have tried the Drivers\Software from the DVD and http://uk.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=5616&dl=1&RWD=0#driver I then upgraded to Win10 and the same thing. The Creative says "No compatible Device installed" or something like that, this is after both the Realtek and Creative Software has been installed.

#4) In Ambient LED App the Rear Panel LED switch is Greyed Out and I can't change the colour of the LED as I can on my Gaming 7?

I have put a RMA\Tech Ticket into OCUK, in particular about the Onboard Audio as that definitely appears to be DOA, but just thought I'd try and check here too.

Regards

Craig.

OK the Mobo was RMA's and replaced. Still no rear panel Audio LED's so I guess they are not supported on this model despite the option to turn it on in the BIOS or am I missing something?, the option is there in Ambient LED but greyed out as is the option to change the colour of the LED and change time, both options work fine on my Gaming 7.

Still have the issue the F5 BIOS which gives a BAD7 checksum, F4 goes in OK and interestingly when I replaced the board with the new one which had F3 and booted back into Windows, Gigabyte App Centre only offered me the F4 update, NOT F5, so is F5 even available for the V1.0?, as I mentioned according to Gigabytes Website it is?

Regards

Craig

Hi Craig,
This is sort of difficult for anyone to compare or speak to unless they have the same board.  Hopefully someone will chime in.
