I pulled everything off of the motherboard with the exception of the bare minimum of items necessary for the machine to run. I pulled the GFX card, all of the case headers for USB and audio, removed the fans from the mobo headers and running them from 4 pin molex adapters, and all except for 1 4GB RAM stick.
Using on-board video, I was able to run stable for 3 hours playing YouTube videos. At that point I shut the system down, and re-installed my GFX card only. It ran through the night while playing YouTube without any issues. Before leaving this morning, I shut everything down and reconnected the audio, USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 headers to the mobo. I started it back up before I left for the office and I will check it again when I get home this evening.
Currently running with the Samsung HDD, the GTX 1080, a single 4 GB stick of RAM, and all of the case headers connected. Fans are still direct from the PSU.
Definitely not a heat issue, HWmonitor is reporting 36C as max temp on the CPU, GPU, and one of the mobo sensors. The other mobo temps are between 28-30C.
